Penelope Giles, president of the Francisville Neighborhood Development Corporation, spoke at an April 21, 2015, forum about Philadelphia's changing neighborhoods. "In order to effectuate real change with regard to economic equitability, we will have to transcend racism, fear and hate — and work together as humans to preserve our species and our planet, big picture. Still the thing that causes me the most lost sleep is how to get through to those who need the information I have the most."

Who We Are

The Historic Francisville Neighborhood is a unique walkable community located in the Philadelphia Art Museum Area with excellent public transportation within minutes of City Hall! The area has historic ties to the City’s Founder, William Penn, and was the original homeland of the LENNI Lenape Indians, whose culture and governing structure greatly influenced Penn’s Holy Experiment.
